Society Meetings

Our meeting programs feature guest lecturers, workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions and the opportunity to network with others sharing the same interests. Visitors with an interest in Jewish genealogy are always welcome. Meetings are held from September to June, normally on the second Sunday of each month, beginning at 1:30 PM. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held at the offices of Gulf Coast Family and Community Services in Clearwater.

Jewish Research at Fort Wayne Genealogy Center

The Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay's Sunday, June 8, 2025, meeting will feature  Curt B. Witcher, of Fort Wayne’s Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center, who will give an overview of its available resources to enhance your Jewish genealogical research.

The library’s Genealogy Center is one of the largest publicly available family history research centers in North America and holds a significant collection of Canadian records. If you’re planning to attend this August’s IAJGS conference in Fort Wayne, you’ll get information to plan for your research trip to the library. Even if you’re not attending, you can hear more about what is available in person and online.

Witcher, manager of the Genealogy Center and Director of Special Collections, is a former president of both the Federation of Genealogical Societies and the National Genealogical Society, and the founding president of the Indiana Genealogical Society. He also serves on the Northeast Indiana Jewish Genealogy Society board of directors. Over several decades, Witcher has led collaborative national efforts to preserve and make more accessible historical data.

This will, when attendees will watch Witcher's online presentation, be the last meeting before the JGSTB’s summer break.

The meeting will take place at the Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater.

 Schmoozing begins at 1:30 p.m.

Many families that Gulf Coast JFCS serve struggle to provide food for themselves and their children. The Gulf Coast JFCS William and Sally Israel Food Pantry supports families and individuals in need including through our Family Reunification Services program. Your support ensures program counselors and coordinators can access healthy food items for families experiencing food insecurity. Removing worry about food shortages allows families to focus on other vital building blocks for healthy families. Please consider supporting those in need through the following ways:

Bring food donations to JGSTB meetings. Donate debit cards or cash to Gulf Coast JFCS in person or through their website or through its Amazon store.
