Society Meetings
Our meeting programs feature guest lecturers, workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions and the opportunity to network with others sharing the same interests. Visitors with an interest in Jewish genealogy are always welcome. Meetings are held from September to June, normally on the second Sunday of each month, beginning at 1:30 PM. Unless otherwise noted, all meetings are held at the offices of Gulf Coast Family and Community Services in Clearwater.

Members-Only Docent-led Tour of Holocaust Museum
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will take a members-only docent-led tour of the recently renovated Florida Holocaust Museum at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. The museum, which was closed for more than a year while undergoing $8 million in upgrades, reopened last September. It is one of only three Holocaust museums in the United States that are accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (the other two: United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Holocaust Museum Houston).
The expanded gallery includes space for the Danish rescue boat Thor and The Wiesel Collection, the Nobel laureate’s personal collection. “The Borscht Belt: Revisiting the Remains of America’s Jewish Vacationland” is a special exhibition that runs through May 31.
Members may bring one guest. The tour is free but registration for both the member and guest is required (see below for link). Deadline to pay dues and to make reservations is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6. Dues run through 2026 and are $25 for single members and $35 for couples/families and can be paid through our Dues Payment Page. The museum now has a clear bag policy, so please leave backpacks and large bags at home or in your car. No food, beverages, gum, pencils, pens, or paper are allowed in the museum. If food or beverage is needed for an attendee’s medical needs, it must be stored in a bag and the Tour & Resource Coordinator must be notified in advance to alert Security of necessary exceptions See below for all of the museum’s policies.

Mobile phones are permitted inside The FHM and we encourage you to use them to take photos and document your visit.

Security measures at The FHM include X-ray for bags and walk-thru metal detectors/detection wands for visitors, Museum Security Officers, and armed Security Officers.

Weapons or firearms (including concealed or open carry) are not allowed in The Museum.

Smoking is not allowed in The Museum.

Limited handicapped parking are located on the north side of the building along the alley.

Service animals are welcome inside The FHM – please leave your other pets at home.

The FHM galleries are kept at 68 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit and approximately 50% humidity, so please dress accordingly.

Your support ensures program counselors and coordinators can access healthy food items for families experiencing food insecurity.
