1:30pm - 4:00pm: JGSTB Meeting: "The Value of Diaries”
The Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will meet Sunday, Oct. 8, and hear Ursula Szczepinska, director of education and research at The Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg. She will share the experiences of Eva and Petr Ginz, teenagers who were deported from Prague to Theresienstadt during the Holocaust. This program will show how excerpts of their diaries help us learn about unique experiences of Jews during the Holocaust and translate statistics into individual lives.
